CHILL (2007)
In this classic retro horror chiller, Sam (Thomas Calabro, "Melrose Place"), an aspiring writer,
gets a job as a clerk in an inner city grocery mart owned by a mysterious Dr. Munoz (Shaun Kurtz),
a former research scientist who claims to have a rare skin condition that forces him to live in sub-freezing temperatures.
Subsequently, Sam befriends an attractive neighbourhood boutique owner named Maria (Ashley Laurence,
"Hellraiser") and becomes unwittingly entwined in a threatening love triangle when Maria reveals that
ex-boyfriend Detective Defazio (James Russo, "Donnie Brasco", "The Ninth Gate"), who is investigating
the recent disappearance of two local prostitutes, is stalking her.
But, it's what Sam doesn't know that might prove more fatal. His newfound employment is just a cover
for a darker, more disturbing secret. Dr. Munoz is secretly performing ghastly regenerative tissue
experiments on living human flesh. Sam is horrified to learn that Munoz died some time ago, but has
kept himself alive through occult measures and the flesh that he harvests from his victims.
With Defazio off track in his investigation, Sam must decide whether he will join Munoz's unholy
ranks to save his own hide -- literally. Will he escape a grim fate before the next fall of
Munoz's unyielding and merciless blade?
Inspired by H.P. Lovecraft's spine tingling tale of the macabre, "Cool Air".

JAMES RUSSO
as Detective Defazio
A Manhattan-born character player who
attended New York University, actor James
Russo wrote and starred in a prize-winning
short film called "The Candy Store" while
attending college. His first big film break was
as a convenience store robber in "Fast Times
at Ridgemont High."
Possessed with a stare that can bring shivers
down one's back, he has been quite the
accessible villain over the years, memorably
portraying a number of gritty psychopaths
and gangsters, among other undesirables.
One only needs to be reminded of his
sadistic sexual animal role in "Extremities"
on stage (in which he won a 1983 Theatre
World Award) and in the film in which he
terrorized Farrah Fawcett, to recall how
chillingly effective he is.
Other film roles include Kevin Costner's "The Postman" and "Open Range," plus "Beverly
Hills Cop," "We're No Angels," "Donnie Brasco," "No Way Home," and a number of other
crimers. On stage, he has "Welcome to Andromeda," "Deathwatch," "Marat/Sade" and
the aforementioned "Extremities" to his credit. Russo appeared opposite Johnny Depp in
Roman Polanski's "The Ninth Gate", and portrayed mobster Victor Mura in TV's
short-lived "Falcone" the following year. More recently, he offered a penetrating cameo as
Frank Sinatra in "Stealing Sinatra."
